MHSAA Conference Overtime
The following overtime procedures apply to:
- Lakes 8 Conference
- OK Conference
- River Valley Conference
- West Michigan Conference
Lakes 8 Conference Overtime Procedure (Fall 2011 – Regular Season)
2 x 10 minute periods
Golden Goal – No
Shoot Out – No
(Teams: Fremont, Fruitport, Grant, Ludington, Newaygo, Orchard View, Spring Lake, Tri-County Area)
Lakes 8 hosted non-league games – coaches can choose to play this overtime format.
River Valley Conference Overtime Procedure (Fall 2011 – Regular Season)
2 x 10 minute periods
Golden Goal – Yes*
Shoot Out – Yes*
*Exception: If you work a West Michigan Christian (W.M.C) game they get to choose to play overtime IF the opponent is a non league team. Remember by rule if both coaches don’t agree there is NO overtime. This is ONLY at W.M.C.
(Teams: Covenant Christian, Freedom Christian, Muskegon Catholic, NorthPoint Christian, Tri-Unity Christian, West Michigan Christian)
No overtime will be played in any non-league game at any host site in the River Valley Conference.
West Michigan Conference Overtime Procedure (Fall 2011 – Regular Season)
2 x 10 minute periods (max)
Golden Goal – Optional
Shoot Out – Optional
(Teams: Hart, Mason Cunty Central, Montague, Muskegon Oakridge, North Muskegon, Ravenna, Shelby, Whitehall)
Coaches decide on the overtime procedure before the game. If no decision, then no overtime.
OK Conference Overtime Procedure (Fall 2011 – Regular Season)
2 x 10 minute periods
Golden Goal – No
Shoot Out – No
(Red Teams: East Kentwood, Grand Haven, Grandville, Hudsonville, Jenison, Muskegon, Rockford, West Ottawa)
(Gold Teams: Caledonia, Forest Hills Eastern, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, Hastings, Ottawa Hills, South Christian, Thornapple-Kellogg, Wayland Union)
(White Teams: East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Christian, Creston, Greenville, Lowell, Northview)
(Green Teams: Byron Center, Hamilton, Holland Christian, Unity Christian, Wyoming Park, Wyoming Rogers, Zeeland East, Zeeland West)
(Black Teams: Forest Hills Central, Grand Rapids, Union, Holland, Kenowa Hills, Mona Shores, Reeths Puffer)
(Silver Teams: Allendale, Calvin Christian, Godwin heights, Hopkins, Kelloggsville, Kent City, Wyoming Lee)
(Blue Teams: Belding, Cedar Springs, Comstock Park, Coopersville, Forest Hills Northern, Sparta, West Catholic)
Overtime applies ONLY to games between teams in the same division (color) and includes division tournaments if applicable.
